My TS5823 vTX died last night :(

Well... half died. Yesterday eve I went out with the 250 for the first time in 2 weeks. All setup and ready, powered her up and slipped the Dom';s on... oh bugger :/

The bottom half of the image was kinda visible but the top half was just static. After a bit of testing at home it turned out to be the vTX (thank funk it wasn';t the Doms!). Fortunately I carry a spare so that';s in and ready to go. But the dead one only had about 3hrs use on it.

Just wondered if anyone else had had issues with either their TS5823 of any of the similar models?

i had a good one that lasted a good few months but it died recently. lost picture, retuned goggles and found something but it wasnt good. tried dip switches but had no effect, bad image stuck on one channel. in bin now.

because my original was so good my friends bought some but theirs either were rubbish range to begin with or have since perished. I bought another one a couple of months ago while my good one was still good but that was rubbish.

get an aomway mini or an eachine et200, sell the camera asap though. thats if you have no conscience, bin it if you have or use it as a home cctv cam, never try to fpv with it!

I';ve had 3 of these. and had the same issue every time.

Install, test, all ok. Take out fly, all good. Change battery, dead.

The last one I had for months and refused to install until Monday just gone, it died yesterday.

Never. Again.

I';ve got one of those on my mini hex, bought it from Phil, touch wood it';s been okay

the thread on RCG mentioned opto escs. my good one was on a quad with emax escs. i changed it to a quad with opto escs and it died. spooky. is there any scientific reason why opto escs could be a factor?

I don';t think so, I use opto ESCs and its fine.

i have one and have had no issues, because after i read what i did about about it i replaced ASAP and only had one flight with it

from what i read it';s the voltage regulator that';s the problem for most, so i didn';t like the thought of having it hooked up too 4S.

Back to FatShark it is, then. I';m using FS in my big tri and there';s one in my not-yet-finished 4s 250. I think I';ll just get the 4s flying and put the 3s 250 on the back burner for a while. Something tells me the 3s won';t be getting as much use when the 4s is ready

A friend connected his to a 4S battery and it blew up after running fine for months on 3S.  It';s rated for up to 24V supposedly.

I';m using a Sony ExView HADII with no D-WDR in the 3s, but I have a SuperHADII with D-WDR in the 4s. Now I';ve tested the D-WDR I wouldn';t buy anything else, they';re really great!

Sounds like a weak reg as Nub suggests.

It will need a 12v regulator IC from the PDB if you are running 4s
