FPV setup

Looking to make my first purchase on some FPV goggles, FPV camera etc.  Already have a 250 which I';ve been flying for some time.  Whilst the Hobbyking Quanums are a cheap starting point I';m not so sure if the quality or the sheer size of what I need to wear on my head is particularly appealing.  Quality also doesn';t look that great as far as the goggles are concerned?

Have been looking at the Fatshark Predator V2 RTF system from Hobbyking, which although more expensive seems much more appealing http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__28342__FatShark_PredatorV2_RTF_FPV_Headset_System_w_Camera_and_5_8G_TX.html.

Alternatively do Skyzone also offer a RTF system?

Any thoughts / advice would be appreciated?  My soldering skills are at best shocking so a RTF setup would be more suitable.

Or ..... would I be better waiting? Is the viewing quality likely to improve on FPV systems, for example 12 months down the line (bit of a how long is a piece of string question I know  :hmm:)

Suppose it depends if they get here without any additions.

personally i would just get from within the UK, then easier if anythings wrong http://www.quadcopters.co.uk/fatshark-predator-video-goggles-v2-full-set-inc-camera-687-p.asp

Although i dont FPV much, i should do, but dont get out as much as i would like atm, i have the Predator V2, took a bit to get used to, but now i find them totally fine to get along with, picture quality is more than good enough.

cant speak for other goggles, as the only other set up i have is a Boscam VTX / RX and viewing on a 7" Monitor.

Thanks Friskle.  What is picture quality like? Am I right in saying that the technology at the moment means that the quality is not for example as good as I might record on my GoPro 4?

bazzerh

no it won';t be as good as HD recorded footage. maybe in a few years we can hope!

for the state of play atm the footage in this vid is about as good as fpv cams get.
