I have a feeling it is 6 overall.

the deadband you set is overall but then so is you fluctuations.. 1994-1506 is an overall of 12 so you need an overall deadband to compensate and should always go a little over.. I had the very same problem with yaw.. my overall fluctuations on the TX were 8 so I set deadband to 10.. no more yaw creep  ::)
