I';m assuming there is some sort of lead for this?

A cable like the above is what you want

Just FYI;
If you plan to power your Go Pro from your lipo/whatever though a cable like that don';t stick more than 5V into it!

More than 5V power will make your Go Pro very unhappy

But only for a short time.  After that it doesn';t care.  ;)

Some people say not to use a GoPro as an FPV cam but i always have with no issue, make sure it has power though, a little 5v UBEC is ideal and what i power mine with...

Hi, I have a GoPro4 Silver as a FPV camera but it doesn';t seem to cope well when I turn into the sun. The screen goes all black. That is the only problem I';ve discovered and I must admit, it';s a bit of a pain and I have been thinking about changing it to a normal fpv camera.

I used my GoPro 2 previously as an FPV camera, worked ok, I liked the wide FOV on it but as bunnygirl pointed out the exposure control in it isnt great for flying towards the sun. Mine took a while to adjust the exposure and then you cant really make out much on the ground, compared to a dedicated camera which adjusted exposure.

Also I found with the GoPro 2 there is a tiny bit of lag with the video feed too, only very small enough that I noticed it but it didnt cause me any problems. It may do if you were flying a 250 racer though..

 Bizarrely with gopros as FPV cameras when they go black in the video feed  the captured footage doesn';t!!!
Also it';s very easy to forget to start recording and then 3 minutes (IIRC) into your flight it switches off...... I have done this on my old 450 back in the day when I was first trying FPV but thankfully at the time used to set up  ';headfree'; mode on the multiwii for ';just incase'; moments and managed to bring it back from about 400m out simply by just knowing what general direction it was in and moving the sticks accordingly!!!!

All said a dedicated FPV camera is better than a gopro for flying.

Cheers guys, I think I will go with a dedicated camera. My thought was if I used the go pro on the gimbal I';d see the view I was recording through the goggles. Otherwise I won';t know where I';m pointing the go pro as it moves and the fpv camera is fixed.

 you can get video switchers so you can go between the two using your tx

NorcoT

Or if its a dedicated rig for filming you could get a second vtx/rx/monitor  :whistling: Might cost a bit though.. One problem I did notice when using a brushless gimbal + gopro is that the video out cable tends to be pretty short and stiff, which means it doesnt allow the gimbal to move freely. Ways around this would have been to extend the cables and use flexible wire. Just a note if you plan to use a gopro and transmit footage back.
