Thinking about buying new fpv goggles in the coming months. I fly 5.8 and have the fatshark dominators at the moment. Its the old ones.

Was looking at skyzone';s or what else would people recommend. I do like the the new v2 doms that had an internal recorder right enough.

thoughts please?

I';m very happy with the V2';s. Not tried the Skyzone';s but they do seem great value.

Cheers revs.
Yes I know. I am kind 9f stuck in 2 minds. Both are roughly about the sane price.

Anyone compare the 2?

I';ve been looking at googles on and off.  Not in the market for one right now, but I try to keep tabs on them.

Oscar Liang has done a nice comparison of goggles with the basic specs here
http://blog.oscarliang.net/fpv-goggles-review-fatshark-skyzone

Although in terms of features I prefer the Skyzone Sky-01 the Dominator V2 seem to have the better image quality.  But this is all from photographs of screens and such without having seen them myself.  Hard to decide IMO.  The price is the about the same for the two at ~ £250.

Thanks father. I have seen mixed reviews about the both. I am content the now but defo plan to upgrade in the near future.

Anyone know the best place to buy the dominator v2 goggles in the UK?

my friends are using the skyzones, the v2 and the new 3d ones. i can say the image quality is fantastic but ive never looked at some dom v2s. I';d have a pair but i';m too used to my diy screen in a box now with their massive immersive feeling.

it just makes sense

Here';s an FOV comparison..

Notice the image format of the Skyzone';s. I think it';s 16:9 instead of 4:3. I believe you get a stretched image if you input a 4:3 signal, not I';m not 100% sure.

I wanted to go for a pair OF skyline v2';s but the literature states that it';ll not be compatible with the immersion rc/nexwave transmitter that';ll be coming with my new Vortex. Anyone know any different?

Thanks for the links Revs. I came across them earlier but was hoping to find some closer to £250.

According to the Vortex page http://www.immersionrc.com/fpv-products/vortex-racing-quad/ it';s 40 channel and works on all the usual channels.

From memory the Skyzone goggles use the 32 commonly encountered ';channels'; (of course I don';t own any so I can';t speak from experience)

Not much kit, but what I have I like
Armattan Tilt 2, Morphite 180, Quark 150, Decapitated NanoQX
Taranis+

I did a bit of reading earlier and it seems the Skyzone goggles won';t work with FatShark/Immersion stuff, even though they work on the same frequency (band F).

Annoying as even Boscam can manage that :(

pretty sure my friend has used a 600mw fatshark vtx with his skyzones

My Boscams work perfectly well with a Fatshark Tx.  I also have a friend that uses Fat Shark goggles with generic 32 channel transmitters without any issues.

I would assume that the Skyzones would be fine, however I have no first hand experience.

Just had another read. It';s the ImmersionRC 600mW VTX that has an issue with the Skyzone goggles, not the 250mW Fatshark VTX. Apparently, even though they';re very similar, there are hardware differences.

I';m using SkyZones with the IRC 600mw with no issues at all. I only bought them a few months ago, so it could be there was an update somewhere which cured any issues?

I';m only going on what I';ve read on several sites, but as you say, things may have changed.

"Note: This Rx is not compatible with newer ImmersionRC or Fatshark Nexwave transmitters." From http://www.getfpv.com/skyzone-fpv-goggles-with-diversity.html.

Would love someone to tell new otherwise, but I can';t risk the disappointment if it doesn';t work properly.

flybywire

I still think the attitude';s take some beating.  The image quality is pretty good, and they are very light, especially if you run a lipo on a flylead and stick it in your back pocket.  It is something to consider when the things can be strapped to your face for 15 minutes at a time.  ~~
