I have a 250 setup with a full naze on it.
I also have a DJI F450 with naza+gps.
When im flying my DJI, if I want to give a non flying friend a go I can put it in gps mode and it will just sit there, when moving, as soon as you let go of the sticks it stops dead so if a newbee gets stuck they can just let go an it will stop and hover.
What settings/mode do I have to change on the naze32 to my 250 to do the same?

From my experience, I think you are asking too much from a Naze at this point in development.

I believe this feature is still in development, as is all GPS functionality in the naze

The Naze 32 has no similar feature and is unlikely to have such a feature any time soon. I';d be surprised if we saw it this year.

There really is almost nothing to match dji';s naza for simple flying in this way. Except maybe the APM or pixhawk - if you set it up properly.

In addition miniquads are not well suited to this kind of flight controller either. They have smaller props and higher thrust to weight ratios than many larger quads and are aerodynamically a lot more slippery through the air. You can';t put a naza on a miniquad and expect it to fly well unfortunately.

I think the latest CC3D based board (revo?) with the latest firmware has some fancy GPS assisted modes but i haven';t played around with one myself.

Yes, the GPS mode equivalent in Naze32 parlance is "GPS Hold" and functionally it is seriously broken, despite what you may read anywhere else. Several of us have had lengthy attempts at getting it to loiter reliably and it simply does not.

The developers of Cleanflight and Baseflight have both worked on the software but it clearly is still a work in progress.

Your best option my be to use BARO mode (if its a full naze) wont stop it moving about but should keep it at roughly the same height, switch it on and let your friend practice with only pitch, roll and yaw. Should help with preventing them from plummeting in to the ground.
