Hi can anyone give me some help setting up my Eztracker, when I power it up the tilt servo go';s to zero but the tilt servo just keeps turning round one way, I';m pretty sure it';s down to my brain not functioning as it should so a little help would be appreciated .

Hi mate , Have you played round with any of the settings with the tracker unit or has it been used before? If it is its first start the servos shouldn';t move.

Hi Aaron. It is the first start up but I think it may be the servo that I am using it is one that I converted to 360 degree, I have now set the pot to hold it still but it only go';s one way , the other thing is I have not set the bearing to zero yet so do you think this could be the problem.

I now think there is a problem with the unit I am getting a replacement from BYOD they have been brilliant .

All sorted, The first problem was that servo ports marked Pan + Tilt are printed back to front on the EZTracker ie Pan = Tilt & Tilt = Pan , once I found that out things got better my next problem was down to a faulty servo but glad to say it';s all working now. Thanks to Martin at Build Your Own Drone for all his help a great place to do business as there after sales service is second to none.

Good to hear all is resolved.

bought mine a short time ago from BYOD too, I';m just in the process of building the tracker housing for the antenna. Then it';s over with Aaron to help with the config and reprogram the servos.

Hi Mate, sorry I';ve been off line so long! Im glad to here you got the problem sorted. Do you get full 360 sweep ( 180 each way ) with your pan and full 90 with you tilt? I had to use a servo programmer to allow the extra movement , I';m using HiTec HS-5685MH servos and never had any problems. What servo type are you currently using mate?

Hi Aaron. I have also been off for a while to but no I cant get a full 180 degrees each way with the pan but I';m not to bothered, I am using Futaba S3003 servos the pan one is converted to 360 degree.

Hi Chris

If you decide you want to get a full 360 degree sweep with your pan in the future you may need to add gearing if you have exceeded you pan servo throw. You can try different tooth combos to see what works best for you. Heres a pic of the last build i did to give you an idea of what i mean mate.
