Lookin'; good there bro, glad you got rid of those tadgy legs, just can';t see the point of legs on 250';s (or any multi without an underslung gimbal for that matter).

Nice one bud.

I think you';ll find that the MS battery isn';t at all ideal for a 250. Not only is it a bit heavy for a 250 but it hasn';t really got the guts. With those motors and props your setup should draw up to 48A and the battery is 30A (60A burst) rated. With them being for low current draw they tend to have a lot of voltage droop when you demand a lot from them. That, combined with the weight will probably result in a poor battery life and poor performance. Still, I';d be interest to know how you get on with them

Thanks - I spend ages thinking about where things are going before cutting away! I';m glad you agree on the legs. Exactly like you, the only time I use landing legs is when the quad has an under-slung gimbal. Maybe I';ll get the build finished next weekend. I';m on a steep learning curve for the FrSky tx rx at the moment  :frantic: Previously used a dx8 which is easy in comparison!

My battery is underslung so i have legs ...

You might be better with plastidip or liquid electrical tape on that board!

Thanks Revs -  I';ve been testing out the 10C battery on my other 250 that uses Cobra 2204 2300kv  motors.

Managed to get 12.5 mins flight time and the lipo was only slightly warm. The other two batteries shown on my above post are the ones I used the most. I';ve only done one flight on the 10C so far so I';ll report on it after some more flights as soon as I finish building Quadlife! I';m interested to see the results too!

Ive still got high hopes for the Kapton foil tape. Its really thin and very mechanically strong with excellent puncture resistance.

Used  in a range of industries including, consumer electronics, solar photovoltaic and wind energy, aerospace, automotive and industrial applications and the silicon adhesive protection leaves no residue.

Moving to an underslung battery - Simply not enough room for the GPS / Compass, FPV antennae, and FRSKY rx without sticking things on a stalks - So thanks for the thought Fletch! all my other builds have underslung batteries. Anyone else in Favor or against underslung batteries??

Revs

There is of course more chance of damaging them on the ground but the main difference with battery position is the COG moves. Ideally you want to have the COG in the middle and in line with the blades.. along with the FC. Not at all easy to achieve with so little space to juggle components around on a 250 quad.

The Quadllife build is now complete and test flight was fine. At 530g excluding battery its no lightweight but does have a talking barbie!

Had some time today flying with my 10C 3000mA Multistar on this new 250 - Flight time ~ 10mins - Charge put back into battery 2,500mAH. Only very slightly warm after flight.

realpastaman

Upgraded the NAZA GPS today and now get much faster full satelitle lock.

The  4mm Ceramic Antenna Kit, was from Ant-King ~ $10 and comes complete with yellow spacier ring (seen in the pic below)

Now I';ve got some more accurate telemetry and run in my 10C 3000mA LIPO, I';ve been doing some further tests on flight time.

Today I got 13.5 Mins flight time and charge put back into LIPO was 2800mA. Again, It was only very slightly warm.
