i read up a bit on naze and the differences between base flight and clean flight, the yaw thing is just not enough dead band at the default setting, so any movement in the rudder stick';s centre signal will cause wandering. your fix is what was recommended. maybe the default should be more than "0".
I wonder why they always yaw clockwise!

i flew this quad today  it was a great sunny day here on the south coast  today i was a bit more aggressive with it and i find  when i do full throttle skyward it goes well but it does roll slightly to the left with a tiny bit of yaw is there any particular place to start with the pids to fix this?

and i cant get the bt to connect  now i bought two bt unit from phill the first connected out the packet so i thought the second one would but it wont do any thing ive got the wires right i even tried swapping them over  is it poss that the budrate needs changing ?

ive stiffened the frame up  with two strips of alloy angle underneath, fitted leds and added cable ties as landing gear, to day it was a joy to fly !!  i also flew my 250 and had another go at fpv i did much better than last tow times but i find every thing looks so small i think i much need a cam change from the cmos cam that came with the fs altitudes

It';s possible that being as you';re flying mode 2 when you raise the throttle you could be putting a tiny bit of yaw input without realising it. Expo on the rudder usually helps, 30% is enough.

forest

ah yes it could be that do i do the expo in baseflight D? i think ive read that

Don';t really matter where you put it, I usually do it on my tx.

forest

ah ok many thanks D

ive sorted the blue tooth as well it was just a setting  im thinking what to build next a tri maybe

D is flying a plane as hard as phoenix sim  makes it ?(not sure if you use it ) the quads on there are so hard to control they are in acro and i can fly acro on my quad but not in the sim so i was wondering if it was the same for planes easier in real life

Planes are more difficult to fly than a quad, all the sim will give you is an idea of what the controls do it won';t teach you to fly - there are other factors that make sim experience almost worthless. If you do seriously want to fly a plane then you need to start on the base line. A 3 channel  model  like a Flying wings V trainer is a great start.

You can get Birch faced ply usually from model shops or here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A4-Birch-Plywood-Sheets-Laser-Safe-For-Crafts-Models-Pyrography-/251805150797
3mm should be fine.

Thanks for that link.  I bought 5 sheets for a future project.  If anyone else is buying those, the individual sheets are cheaper than the bundle offerings.

Some things I';m sketching out but can';t make my mind up on are: -

Y6 but with the rear rotors angled, like <
U6 but with the rear in a A-tail.
Y4 but with front 2 In a V
A cube, but I think that is a bit complex for me at the mo  ::)

None are the most optimal or efficient but should be good for a laugh.

well thats sth to think on, a cube sounds interesting  although im not sure how that would work  8 motors?

They can fail fairly easily because believe it or not they';re a bit brittle (well mine were), the main problem mine had was that they seemed to hit a resonance and the whole model vibrated like crazy!

Originally I was thinking 1 / corner angled out and have it rolling around the field, 3D reversible props to allow change direction from top to bottom of cube, would have to do a bit of coding for that one.
But could just treat it as an octo, just with the coaxial props quite separate. mmmm that might be doable  ::)
I like thinking out loud.

Edit:

Just thought a cube is going to be a real b$tch to orientate
