Brushless gimbal with crius board megapirate servo controls?

Been looking at this and it seems like it should be similar to a digital servo but cant find an answer.

Can I just connect the brushless gimbal motors directly to the crius like a servo or does the need to be some sort of board between them that translates the signal, kind of like a stepper? Or, is there some changes that can be made in software that will do this?

You can';t with brushless I';m afraid, you can with a servo-based gimbal.

Servo gimbals are still good but not as smooth as the brushless units
The ssg on the kk is particularly good as are others.
The plus side is brushless gimbals and their controllers are dropping in price rapidly.

Got the brushless gimbal kit today. The plugs are the same, is there a reason that these can not be built into the code.

It';s not a code issue, the motors require more power than the Crius can supply.

Well,  it';s not a power issue.  It';s about connecting 2 completely different interfaces together.  Brushless motors use 3 phase ac.  Servos use single pwm.  It';d be like plugging your usb into an HDMI socket and expecting it to work.  It';s just an unhappy coincidence that the plugs are the same

For some reason I was thinking it would be like using a brushless esc in place of a servo on the board. Then I remembered that the esc lets you convert from two phase to three phase. IE signal, power, ground to 3 phases for the motor.

Should use ESC for the gimbal like 1Amp  esc and plug next to other ESC to the board like motor.  It could be done....!
