More power?

Currently running Zippy Compact 3s 1800 35c';s on my 250.  Wanting to order some more batteries. Would I see any major difference in a 40c battery compared to the 35c I';m running?  If not what would I need to buy to notice any significant difference in power? :hmm:

Your maximum power depends on how many amps your motors can take plus the cell count they will work with.
As long as the C rating of your batteries will EASILY cope with demand a higher C rating is academic;  although generally speaking if your motors support it a higher cell count is more efficient.

I have same problem.  Tried everything, gains, props, higher C, before giving up and now about to begin the transition to 4s.  There';s just not enough poke in 3s once you want a bit more out of it.

I thought someone might mention the 4s route.  Currently running EMAX 1806 2280KV but noticed on one site the suggestion was 2s or 3s so do I assume a 4s would be too much for the motors?

Same motors I have. They wont run 4s unfortunately. Neither will my escs. Have ordered kiss escs and these http://witespyquad.gostorego.com/rtf-mini-motor-x2208-2300kv.html motors (thanks ben) to replace my 3s setup.

Volts don';t kill motors, amps do so if you';re careful with the size of the props you try all should be ok - with esc';s voltage does matter so no joy there!

Running 12a ESCS.  OK, looks like I';ll have to make do. I';ve no chance of getting upgraded motors at the moment and as the 250 is a newly completed build she who must be obeyed, accountant and ...... well wife actually  :notworthy:, will definitely not sign off approval for an upgrade.

So .... Looks like 40c';s are my best option. Thanks for the replies.

i doubt a slightly higher C rating will make much of a difference, can you fit 6" props on your frame?

best way to go really is 4S otherwise its going to feel like a slug IMHO though i';ve yet to fly a 3S 6" prop setup.

as for your motors handling 4S well i';d give it a go if your ESC';s can take it  ::)
