Any Ideas for a quick release gimbal mechanism

Looking for ideas for a quick';ish release mechanism

Gimbal has 4 standoff posts, expecting to be bolted from above no doubt. (like this)

It';s going under a cf battery tray so yes I could do that . But I';d rather have a no tools release to remove it completely for transportation.

I';m sure its been done many a time ?

Freefly does their mounts as a spigot with a clamping mechanism, as seen here and here. This is quite an elegant solution as it simplifies the design down to one mechanism. Will be a toughie to recreate unless you are quite skilled at CAD or very skilled at making pieces which could be later cast in aluminium. I';m not aware of anything off the shelf that you could use, but that';s not to say it doesn';t exist in some form.
I reverse polarities for fun.

If you were trying to recreate the clamping mechanism, I';d provably look at using something like a seat post clamp that can probably be bought as bike spares or a clamping feedneck from paintball spares.
Other ideas:
picatinny rail + quick release scope mount
camera tripod quick release
Gopro mount
One of those 1/4turn twist lock pvc pipe endcap things
...

Take a look at this video. He uses a buckle from a GoPro mount on a custom top plate for the gimbal...

Quick release mount for Tarot gimbal
F330 with Naza M lite V2 for FPV - TBS carbon clone with Naza M lite V2 for use with GoPro - F450 with KK2 to learn flips....
Next project is a F550 hex with Naza M lite V2 for GoPro on gimbal.
Spektrum DX6i and TGY 9x with ER9x and FRSky DJT module

Desmoboy

I use camera rail quick release brackets. Google "fotga DP500".  Of course this may not fit your design and it relies on 15mm rails but it is robust.

orfordness

Go Pro or SJ4000 mounts, works great on my Tarot 680
DJI Mavic Pro
Tarot 680 Pro Hex
450 (Flamewheel clone) x 4
Hubsan X4
CS022 Mini Quad

Thanks guys should have said its carrying a Sony A6000 so a bit more weight than the gopro.
The freefly mount looks good if not expensive .
I like the idea of the camera tripod quick release mechanism I';m thinking along the lines of these

remove the camera screw and bolt to the plate top and bottom

Brass hosepipe connectors and pedal attachments, thinking outside the box there Peaky  ~~
I have retractable landing gear, so it won';t be removed............. Maybe I';m over-thinking this and folks don';t remove the gimbal from larger rigs... I was assuming everyone did.

I have another heavy working week next week then 2 weeks when I planned to finish the X6 build, I';ll wait and see if I';m solving a problem that doesn';t exist.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions
