The weather finally cooperated last Sunday and my Vulcan took to the sky for the first time. The air temperature was 0ÂșC with ice on the ground so it was a bit chilly to say the least! She flew great and flight times even in the freezing conditions were better than I expected. It';s a big rig for a GoPro but it should handle the wind up here better than my P2. AUW with gimbal is 4570g.

That';s a big bit of kit with "just" a gopro underneath. Got any plans for a bigger gimbal/camera setup?

Nice one, bet your glad to get the 1st outing under your belt.  ~~

I built a mantis 900, with all straight arms, same motor and Esc';s. Its a little bigger even than yours because i fitted ally outrigger arms to protect the props when landing in an "uncontrolled manner" Originally intended to fit a DSLR gimbal but have since decided a GoPro is all i want under this.
It flies dead flat and stable so the outriggers will probably come off and i am considering cutting the arms down a little. This is because the current size of 1100mm is too big for my car and a GoPro will be fine under a 700mm craft.
The Mantis is a really good piece of kit isn';t it, especially for the money
