Battery for brushless gimball

I am waiting for a brushless gimball to arrive for my go pro.  However I just thought it will need power.  I have 5Ah 3s battery which I don';t really want to share with the gimball.  What is the smallest battery that I could use for a gimball and how much usage would I get?

hard to say, info for the gimbal should say what voltages can be used, no one can really answer the Q without knowing which your getting.

mine can run on 2 cell batts, and it lasts a long time, far exceeds my flight times.

What capacity is your battery?

when i used the 2 cell, it was a 900mah one, which would normally last me a good few flights before needing charging, now though, for the sake of getting some weight off, my quad has a harness with two spare JST connectors, so now run the gimbal via one of those from the main flight battery, and to be honest, i have never noticed any significant loss of flight times.
