DJI s900 v Tarot T810 Frame opinions please

Hi Folks. I';m at the stage where I';m trying not to listen to the voice in my head telling me to dive in the deep end and buy everything that looks nice. At some point the voice will either win or give up all together.

So per the title of the post. I';m looking at the DJI S900 or the Tarot T810 frame.
With no practical knowledge of either I';m trying to figure out the real difference between the 2. Eventually I intend to add camera, gimble and all that entails but not on day #1

My completely web based investigations are pointing me toward the DJI frame. I haven';t found a decent comparison between them, but from what I can figure the folding/locking  mechanism of the Tarot can be a bit fiddly and has a greater potential to snag the cables. Cost wise there isn';t too much in it for the frame alone, although I see better deals on bundles for the Tarot.

Neither of them are low cost options, but I';m not sure if a Tarot owner secretly wishes they had the DJI or is that just better marketing of the DJI that leads me to that conclusion.

Now . before anyone tells me . I do intend to buy a hubsan to get the feel for it before I do anything.

All suggestions welcome.

Its hard to beat the S900 at the price point DJI are selling in for..  and the bundles with FC';s or Gimbals..

The folding design makes it very easy to transport. also it comes pretty much assembled..

By the time you have bought all the bits for the tarrot.. I am pretty sure the S900 would be a lot cheaper.. and it comes with retracts as standard..

Good choice !!! I have built all the tarot frames to date and have an X6 in the post !!! Just be careful with your motor choice !!! If you are going to fit a larger gimbal with mid size cam like an NEX5 then i would highly recommend the Emax 3515 as they can be used safely with both 4s and 6s setup with the 6s giving seriously responsive control !!! The tarot retracts are good and cheap to repair if dinged !!! Also the tarot folding props are as good as the DJI ones and you can now choose a three blade setup !!! 1550 props are the recommended for this size of frame and give the best performance allround !!! Hope you enjoy your build !!!

All the best rob

Thanks Rob. OK So imagine my surprise when having just bought the frame I came back here and quickly snapped up these from GeorgeC

Sunnysky 2814-700 motors
40A blue series ESC';s, all flashed with SimonK
Tarrot 12 x 6 carbon props

Now if I';m honest I originally thought the frame was a bit smaller than it actually is, so I may be pushing my luck with these. All comments good or bad welcome

I';m planning on using 2 * Turnigy nano-tech 6000mah 4S lipos in parallel and at some point I will be adding a gimbal initially for a gopro which I have, but maybe larger.

So my question is before I buy the 4S lipos, should I rethink the motors and props.

Quote from: AlanN on Wednesday,December 03, 2014, 09:08:21 I think it would be a good idea to invest in ecalc, it could save you a lot of hassle, I just ran your proposed setup and you will fry your motors at full throttle with 4s and 12 inch props. However if you run 3s and tarot 13x5.5 props you will get about 8.7 mins general flying.
Hope this helps good luck with the build.
