Hi guys, I want to fit a camera to my quad which will allow me to fly a route recce before I try to drive the route. Ideally I';d like a live feed to an iPad or similar, in HD quality. Also good aerial video recording is essential. A gimbal system would be very useful too, although I am concerned about weight.

Any ideas, what have you used?

stuart

I have the quarto my m8 has the Nova we watched loads of you tube videos on cameras go pros ect after watching a go pro up against an sj400 we went for the later at a fraction of the cost of the others some good side by side tests take a look then make your mind up im going for a walker g2 gimble for mine after checking them out il have both for a fraction of the price of most cameras im just a newbie tho others will advise you more than me

Thanks Stuart. Can it do live video to an iPad or similar? I';m told GPros use 2.4G and that could interfere?

I';m interested to know a bit more about;

Sounds like an interesting project. What exactly are you trying to do?
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
 1 lobe short of an antenna.

yes just a slight delay the apps free take a look on you tube we just put in sj4000 there was loads of videos including quarto and quantom footage we have ordered 3 now from a guy in the uk all work great in fact if I remember right it was one of the sellers test that sold us on it ours came in two days to Northern Ireland new camera and correct gimble for £115 including our postage costs is still a saving on a go pro then you have your gimble on top of its price as I said watch a few videos first sj 4000 wi fi

Very cool. The plan is to use the quad when we take our VW T3 Syncro 4x4 on exped to Iceland in 2016. We do quite a bit of off roading in it and it';s having major modificatIons made to prep it for living in for 3 to 4 weeks self sufficiently. I want to be able to recce ahead when making water crossings or driving on old lava fields etc, as well as getting some great footage of us crossing Iceland from the air.

Quite a lot of modifications now going on since this picture was taken in Sept 14, including a new engine.

This sounds like an epic journey. Can';t wait to see the results.

2015 is the shakedown year with multiple outings to test the vans capabilities and we also have to finish modifying the interior etc. 2016 is the year of the trip.
