New build from novice pilot
I decided to have a go at building a quad but me being me wanted to design my own. I have never flown a helicopter or multirotor before - I have done quite a bit of slope soaring about 5 years ago so not totally unfamiliar with RC.
Anyway came up with a design loosely based on a hunter v-tail but with the rear motors upwards instead of downwards - this comes from my plane flying days, high tail wings survive better when landing a bit wrong - in theory  :hmm:
So far I have reinforced the body at the back where it snapped and reinforced the rear tail as the motors where shaking violently and moved the battery from inside to underneath as it damages the body if in a bad crash.
I am using a KK2.1 board with stevies 1.951, that';s how it came.
the motors are Emax CF2822 with 30 Amp esc';s
and a 5500mah lipo
After all the above and trying a few times to fly it - and breaking it, I found out from someone who looks like they can fly a quad with there eyes shut that I had the two back motors the wrong way  :notworthy:  in the kk2.1 as the v-tail setting in the kk2 is expecting motors underneath not as mine on top :banghead: yes it spun like a top
Now that';s sorted out I have managed to hover it for a few seconds on and off indoors as I cant get much practice in at the moment due to bad weather.
I have researched about the KK2.1 settings but the more I read the more im confused about good starting settings for a complete novice with quads. Any input on this would be appreciated  ::)
With this quad I wanted something that is visually pleasing to fly but added the nose to take an FPV camera as this is what I want to do eventually.
Many thanks
