Agreed. The general public will only view such incidents as the media portrays them. I';ve yet to read a positive news story on UAV';s highlighting how much revenue they can bring in, or doing things that weren';t possible before. Helping fire and rescue services or such like. No, unfortunately while ever the media chose to report these things in such a bad light, nothing short of scaremongering public opinion will generally be negative.

Plus....  it';s the bl00dy general public buying them and flying them without a care that';s causing the issue, not us..

Maybe put some pressure on the stores that just sell them over the counter, to unsure that they make the buyer aware of the rules.

There have been positive stories published in the recent past. But the current sensationalism makes the apparently negative stories very appealing to the news editors. 

What is quite encouraging in the entire article, however, is that those who make up the rules and regulations will not be likely to be swayed by such sensationalism.

General secretary Jim McAuslan said: ';The UK should become a ';safe drone zone'; so we can make the most of the major business and leisure opportunities offered by remotely piloted aircraft, while protecting passengers, pilots and residents.

The latter, leisure, would be us lot ...

We all know about not flying in restricted airspace, even if we do not know where that airspace is from time to time. Airports are fairly obvious no-go areas, to us.   Very clearly from this report the quad flier/s had not a scooby about the airspace or didn';t care.  Either way, they';re legitimate fodder for a CAA prosecution.
