Oddly, the CAP722 regs never get a mention with regard to 400ft and controlled airspace.

The CAA are rather notable by their absence in all this. A previous report stated the BBC tried to get the (5 relevant) bods in the CAA to respond to questions but failed.

Friskle

Perhaps they don';t want their name dragged through the mud by a group that promote propaganda and over sensationalize anything they report.

The CAA will say nowt for a while..then act.....which way they will jump is never ever certain..Trust me I worked for them for 28 years in a capacity that dealt with the Rules of the Air and ATC.  Its  altered a lot since I retired but the old mindset will still be there.
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

I suspect that there might be a little good in this kind of sensationalist... reporting. If it scares some people off buying their 10yr old (or insert suitable non-competent individual) a dangerous aircraft because they hear it can be illegal then we stand to have a few less idiots buzzing old ladies in Tesco carparks.

A few arrests now and again for stupid behavior also won';t hurt IMO. So long as it';s because they';re being stupid not ';because it';s a drone'; then common sense will prevail.

Anyhow, this is all nothing new so I';ll get on with my PCB layout ;)

Funny, i thought we were discussing the BBC, not the Daily Mail?

You did see the BBC';s coverage of the Scottish Independence Referendum ?  BBC = Daily Mail or any other tabloid you care to mention.

Mr.L

I see the BBC aren';t totally against uav';s. Bit worrying that the expert doesn';t know the difference between octo and hex though!

It';s been a long time since the BBC was a bastion of deep unbiased news converge I';m afraid.

The only network I';ve found that doesn';t treat it';s readers/viewers as morons, has no political motivations and tells it how it is is Al Jazeera.

It';s how the BBC used to be 30 years ago - standing up the report things as they happen. And REAL news, not here';s 2 stories on our front page about beyonce or some such crap.

and if, through osmosis, you';ve been led to believe that somehow it';s something to do with Al Quaeda or terrorists or summit.. well... you';ve just proved all my points above about the crap you';ve been fed by the old media boys.

it';s Obama';s favourite news channel if that makes a difference to you.

What referendum?   :whistling:

Ps.  I gave up looking at the news years ago, it';s always depressing and largely irrelevant to me, besides i';m far too busy f****** around with multirotors.  :-)
