Looks like a faulty Afro ESC.
Just stress testing and I could hear it drop out several times over 5-6 minutes. Only slight cut-outs and it kicked back in but it';s certainly there. Typical isn';t it, no suppliers in decent driving distance so I miss a weekends flying. Ordered ten minutes ago so I guess I missed the post.
At least I have a culprit.

Glad you found it for sure SP.  Have you got the kit to try re-flashing it to stock using RapidFlash for Chrome?  I';m not entirely hopeful of success, but if there';s something wrong with the software config a re-flash will fix that.   I kept having "bad phase B" problems with one of mine on the TBS Discovery.  Did a re-flash back to factory, and this time did not calibrate, and the problem went away and it still flies like a demon.

Like @kilby, I try to keep a smallholding of spares.  Typically if I';m buying new bits I';ll order an extra one (ie. 5 ESCs for a quad).  If funds permit, of course.

Unfortunately I don';t have the kit to reflash. Think that';s something else I';ll have to buy.
Something very strange going on. If the throttle drops below around 15/20% it stalls. Keep it high and it';s fine. To confound things however I can also hear the occasional click from motor 1. So ESC 1 and 3 seem to be iffy. If I swap the ports around on the NAZA or the motors it';s just these 2 acting up. How odd is that that 2 should flip together? Ordered one earlier I';m going to look a right tit ordering a couple more.

Did you calibrate the Afro ESC - or do you know if it has been calibrated?  Its just that Timecop himself says that SimonK ESCs shouldn';t be calibrated.  My own experience is that they will fly out of the packet and that calibrating has cause me trouble with one! 

In lieu of having a USB Flasher it may be an idea to try calibrating the ESC again, they may not have calibrated identically or correctly match the TX endpoints (min and max throttle positions).

Yerssss,  ::)   This hobby can get a bit like that at times ... says me who blew up an ESC today that has effectively shelved my build until next weekend.    Once you';re up in the air proper-like you';ll forget it all

Well, I ended up ordering 5 ESC';s for some reason... which is food because I also ordered a Discovery frame and some Sunnysky';s so I';ll need something to power them.

Have to say the USB flasher came today and I flashed all of my "old" ESC';s with latest F/W and the problem appears to have gone. So somehow the flash mush have become corrupted.

What started out with a corrupted ESC has seen me end up with another Copter and this frame as a project to maybe slap a Naze32 in at a later date for a lightweight fun quad.
Always knew I';d end up going for a Disco, typical me needed the excuse of a bad esc as the reason to do it.

All';s well that ends well. I';ve learned something new along the way so... thank you to the good folk of Multi Rotor forums for steering me in the right direction.

Addictive would be an understatement when describing this hobby of ours! Patience and deep pockets become mandatory. 

The original esc';s you';ve been running Dan were still on stock firmware. It';s possible one or two have somehow been corrupted but I don';t have enough experience to say exactly how. Really hope you manage to get things sorted and back in the air soon mate. Glad to hear it';s not dampened your enthusiasm for all things multi. ::)
