Fancied trying something new on my M250 (Awesome 250 from FATSHARKSTORE - shameless plug!) and read about the HK-10A from Hobby-king.

https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=29635

They are SILABS based esc';s, which I know are regarded as the underdog compared to ATMEL, but I and many others think there great value! Once flashed with BLHELI 11.2 they perform great. They also seem very well made, clean solder and seems well laid out.

Basic Spec.
Amp rating: 10A
Burst Rate (15sec): 11A
BEC Current: 1A, 5V (Linear)
Voltage: (2-3 cell Lipo)
Dimensions: 23x18x8mm
Weight: 8g

I know they wont be to everyone';s taste, but for the money (also from UK HK warehouse). I fitted a small programming lead on them so I can easily adjust the settings.

Cheers!

Only had a quad with the bi heli firmware for a few minutes, but it did bugger off in a very efficient fashion

Will have a look at these as I think I will have to follow Barneys lead for a VTail quad build

The HK10A (F-10A)
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=29550&aff=796984
has the atmel chip and only 16p or so more expensive much easier to flash with simonK rather than all the messing needed to flash silab chips.

10 amps wouldn';t be enough for any of my mini quads.

I need at least 12 with a ';burst'; rating of 16 to feel safe in the air.

But BLHeli does perform very well with a little setting up so i am sure these would work fine for people running lower power setups. Use a watt meter if in doubt to double check your maximum current draw.
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

Was considering something like these for a sub 250 indoor machine that can heft a mobius.

Then again the small afro esc';s aren';t much expensive either (providing there are any to buy)
