I under any other circumstances  (for a film or something) things would be much more controlled and no unessicary people around.

One cable in the wrong place and a lot of people would be toast

Yep I would agree he has some serious skills in there, was it a Robinson R44.

But in the end as Kilby said.....

Know can he say he has control with a comentator blocking his right hand window view, did he need to work so agreed to do it. I suspect no it was all his doing to pull crouds in an otherwise dying ';sport';. If it was a KFC add and a stunt ok, but for a 10 bit rodeo night out come on......

Seen that before, awesome skills doing what he was - the pendulum effect of those logs would be immense yet he still managed precise placement!

It seems its getting popular in here that because we class flying quads over people / crowd / roads etc as bad the response is going to be the same for this kind of video .... its a great forum but please use your own opinion the FAA/CAA get paid to do their job ... leave them do it ... blah blah is dangerous etc etc is getting boring most in here know the rules , Im worrying about myself ... by the time these videos are up its a done deal

the quad thing is getting a bit boring regarding flying ... its not up to us to police it , it has an impact on our hobby anyway ... its a done thing !

not our problem , as we seem to be publicising the bad as if no one breaks ';any'; rules which probably we all do now and again .... I hover in my garden ... Breaking the law ..! lol

I live by Pembrey targeting range ... and have done for 40 years .... not many days go by without seeing F18';s/Hawks/Chinooks/A-10s ..several years ago/ gunships/C-130';s/eurofighter ..... etc etc ... never has one killed anyone .... and they seem to be having a good time too!

Hmm Self regulation is the way to go and implement the legislation in place.

I do not advocate P=i==ing on other peoples fun, far from it, but however you look at it 3+ CF props at 3k + rpm. I would happily excersise my right to implemt a public safty order. on anyone flying in a bussy park with that sort of set up.

Would I get a ninja suet and stalk them No of course not, but if one does see it, don';t be a public member.....

who';s to say you won';t have saved a family a lot of heart ache.

The rodeo had finished and the crowd cleared to the left of screen, An attempt at controlling the crowd, no animals in site. Just the poor public that this time are fine. Robinson R44 they are a nimble little bird and 4 seats. I have only flown one once before from Denham and the pilot I handed controle to was astonishingly good. But the R44 at low altitued does suffer with uncany ground effect the R22 even more.......

I would like to add that I don';t think you would get this kind of show in the UK.

The pilot and his assistants chose to be there, the seating towards the rhs don';t seem to be too empty.

Yeah because when you go are sitting in the stands at some event you are expecting somebody in a helicopter to start throwing it about in the (fairly small arena)

I';m sure if you where on holiday with your family and you went to a rodeo or fiesta of some sort you would be perfectly happy that such a display occurred and if something did go wrong and some of your family where wiped out you wouldn';t mind after all they knew the risks.

I shared a house with a pair of skydivers and they knew the risks, however they didn';t jump into central London during rush hour,  but sure that would be OK if the chute failed to open and they wiped out a commuter it would be OK the commuter chose to be there.

Yeah the guy had skills it doesn';t take anything away from it being a bad location to demonstrate those skills.

Btw they where into BASE jumping and made sure that if something went wrong for them it would not affect the safety of others.

Actually, personally, i would find it quite entertaining, because for the most part, it was possibly part of the show, so people probably knew what was coming,

Sorry, but why condemn something that probably never affect you, as you said, something we will probably never see in the uk, so why moan about it ?

When you go to an airshow, you are fully aware one could crash, but you still go, you get on a plane, knowing full well the possible dangers, but you still get on, yes some dont, but the majority do.

You drive a car down the road, knowing full well an accident could occur, but you continue to drive, sadly, there are dangers everywhere.

Look at rallycross, inches from the crowd on bends, yes dangerous, but their choice to be there,   thats the word, choice, those that wanted to see it stayed, those that didnt, can easily leave.

As for the commuter comment, sorry, what a stupid example that bares no relevance to this at all, a commuter in the mifddle of london certainly isnt expecting that to happen, i think you miss the point here, it was a show, they do various stunts at these events, and the people there know whats coming in most cases.
