http://makeitbuildit.co.uk/index.php?route=product/manufacturer/info&manufacturer_id=14

Motors arrived fast but im now working out how to mount them on my HobbyKing FPV250 as the mounting holes in this are designed for 3mm screws on a 16mm 19mm patern and the
Emax 1806 motors use a 2mm screws on a 12mm 16mm pattern.  :help:

I only use 2 screws on Spanky, just locktite and they';ll be fine.

I agree, I only use 2 screws ususaly to hold the motor, on the smaller ones i dont see the need for 4, as they are not pulling a massive amount of weight, a little locktite or thread lock is good, but dont put too much as the bolt heads dont have a lot of meat on them, and it would be easy to strip them as you try to remove

if you get too much on,  and start to strip the head warm them up first with soldering iron on the head and the heat should loosen the loctite/threadlock

I have two screws holding my little Emax motors on my mini H build. Not the first time I have done it either and I have never had a problem ~~

Hi Phil,

Finally got around to trying your motors (and naze32), loving them and they feel very high quality.

Have you got or seen any specs, amps, power, thrust etc. with them running 5x4 prop.

Here they are on my hex,

philtrum

that looks the mutts nutts !

I want one !

not got any thrust tests, there are some on the web if you have a google for them, not sure it covers the 5x4 prop though

motors will be back in stock mid july, they have been ordered :D
Many Thanks

Probably flown ~8HRS now using 5 x 4 HQ carbon reinforced using HK afro 12a ultra lite flashed with simonk 2013-05-05 Great little motors with lots of power. If you are using HQ 5 x4 props then see http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php?topic=7745.msg70004#msg70004

Working great on 5 x 4 but see note about split washer

xeostar

Chaps,

Thanks for the reply I think I';ll get some HQ5x4s and give them a try.

Also thanks the tip about the washers if one of those spinners comes off it';ll certainly make a mess.

Reason I asked is that the 5x3s sound like they are running at very high rpm, I';ve not used a tacho but they sound like they are running fast.

12a esc back in stock - http://makeitbuildit.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=25_32&product_id=117
also stock of both clockwise and counter clockwise motors

recommened to have 2 of each type for a quad etc, that way the prop nuts self tighten when the motors are running

CW motors - http://makeitbuildit.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=128
CCW motors - http://makeitbuildit.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=116

Phil, I am considering a power train upgrade to my 250  ::) What screws come with the 1806s?  ::) Also going to get some Emax 12A ESCs, can you tell me the approx wire length  of both the motors and ESCs?  ~~

Hi

screws are 2mm and fairly short, but i have longer ones and washers, if you are using a 3mm carbon/g10 arm for example esc cables are 6cm for motor connection side 8cm for power side
motor wires, i cant tell you exactly, as i cut mine down (mistake, bugger to solder as you have to get the enamal off lol

Thanks Phil. I dropped an order for 4 of the Emax ESCs, thankfully for my wallet your 1806s are OOS  ;) Will you have some at the end by the end of the month? I am using one of those CF 250 frames, like you sell, so would need the longer screws too  ~~
