I';ve attached a pic of an AV lead I';';m going to use for the video out to my Immersion VTX, the lump that I';ve focused on in the picture, what does that do and does it have any effect on video if I either remove it or cut th lead ion front it ??

Desmoboy

Its a "choke"  its effect is to suppress interference

In other words I may get a slightly more fuzzy picture on my monitor if I take it off but no more so than any lead that doesn';t have one in the 1st place .... have I interpreted that correctly ???

John A

Yes, that';s about right. I would try a lead without the choke first if you can. If the video and audio are good then don';t worry about not using the choke. You may notice a difference in the video colour saturation, sharpness and possibly noise bands on the picture depending on wether the choke is fitted or not, Give both options a whirl and see what suits you best.

Thanks for bith your help, it';s just for my feed to the ground, if I can get away without it I will simply because of extra weight and as long as I can see what the camera';s framing then that';s fine!!
