Small Light Stills Camera ???

Does anyone have any suggestions for a small light stills camera, I was thinking about an RX 100 but I think I really want something lighter to go under a 450??

Ideally something that can be put on a gimbal to give tilt, even if it';s a basic servo controlled and something that can relatively easily have a video feed back, and either time lapse or some sort of remote control function and be powered off the flight battery

Sorry, not much to ask, but hopefully there';s something out there that fits the bill.

Obviously picture quality is essential but weight is very important.

Cannon Powershot S110

Got one myself with the intention of doing AP with it, but never got round to doing it. Cracking camera though.

Its only 12mp but don';t let that put you off, the image quality is spot on

Reasonably light (under 200g)

And with the CHDK firmware you can do interval shots or setup a simple remote trigger. Dont think you can do live video feedback though or be powered off a flight battery.

I think a 450 running 10" props should be able to lift a camera that size

I had been looking at a 2nd hand S100, I';m not sure how far they got with the CHDK firmware with the S110, I didn';t think it was complete and was still in development but you may know more about that than me!!???
If you can';t see what the camera';s pointing at though it';d be pretty useless wouldn';t it ??? Or is it capable of sending still screenshots but not video via VTX for some reason?? Really don';t want to have to mount a 2nd camera just to see what the 1st is aiming at!!

Theflyingfreak

Anybody else any input or alternate suggestion that are worth throwing in the mix??

Depends what resolution / quality you are after.

I use a Raspberry PI with camera module. It';s only 5MP but has a good picture.

At the moment I just use it to record 1080p video of my flights. But it is possible to take stills every x sec or trigger some how. Fully programmable so it';s down to your imagination.

There is also a video out which I plan to hook up to a VTX for my trials in FPV but not done that yet.

Oh yeah it';s light ~40g and runs from your 5V supplies.
