Does anyone here use the 808#16 camera for FPV and are there any issues in doing so?

I';m thinking of using it for FPV and the SJ4000 for recording.

Thanks.

yes there';s a noticeable lag m8 and also when pointing up at the sky its fine but when you point it at the ground the ground is black for about 4 seconds which really puts you off and if you close to the floor can be a accident waiting to happen plus you can not record your fpv as well as you need to be in web cam mode and for that you have to take the micro disk card out

I used the 808#16 when starting out and i will repeat the above - it';s rubbish.

It lacks Wide Dynamic Rage (WDR) which helps cameras react to fast changing brightness levels so if you fly along looking at the ground then nose up you';ll get a delay before you get good visibility and vice versa.

You';ll get much better video quality with one of these;

Or one of these;

Second link is slightly better quality at twice the price.

That';s great and many thanks for the info.

Is there something on Hobbyking that is as good as the first option?

I have  a SeaWolf camera the picture is fantastic but it';s so heavy as it has a big heatsinc and a huge lens!

Thanks.

i';ve used a 808 #16 as flight and recording camera  , and to be honest its fantastic for the cost of it.

Never experienced any lag that was noticeable ( and its in a fairly fast wing) , light levels are fine although a wdr function would be nice, and you can record + fly with it at the same time . You just need to set it up with the software ( which is excellent) and make/use the proper cable.

There are quite a few copycat ones being sold on ebay so maybe other folks have been unlucky?

Video below of me flying over the village showing recorded 720p footage and also a recording of the goggles picture.

No - at least not that I';m aware of anyway.

There';s a 3d printed case for the caseless security camera somewhere though that works very well and weighs almost nothing compared to the proper metal cases.
