Besides the huge price differences, why the Gopro over the SJ4000?

Has anyone used the SJ4000?

Well, I';ve gone and bought the SJ4000 at £60.87 and free p&p. Should be here later on in the week.

been looking at those myself since I scratched my GoPro lens ...

silly price to the point that I would';nt cry (as much) when smashing one into terra firma

I had the SJ1000, which is the same internals but in a different case. I was very please with the image quality which was very sharp and clear with good colours too. What let it down was the inability to mount it to an air frame due to it';s awkward shape, now it';s square it should make a good alternative

I ended up using mine as a dash cam after I switched to a GoPro and after a few months it just died
