New ESCs required ... Oops!

Killed my Discovery last night, came down in a crop field, motors stalled and have burned 2 of my TBS Bulletproof ESCs.

So, I need 4 new ones, UK stockist would be good, I use 4s LiPo';s, I';d prefer good quality ones, am not too worried about the cost, just want to get flying again!  :cry

I also of course need to replace the 4 motors, have made a thread in the motor section for those.

Is there a formula to work out what maximum power I need for the ESCs? Is it ok to use a higher rated one, say I only actually need 25A, will it matter if I fit 40A ones?

Thanks all!

The higher current ESCs will weigh more and be larger. They';d likely control the motors as well as a lower current ESC, however.

I';d say to try and balance up what your expected power needs are and buy the ESCs and motors accordingly.  There is an on-line calculator that you can use called eCalc which will get you in the right ballpark http://www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.php?ecalc&lang=en

The free version is okay - and for £0.99 you get use of the full version that is more comprehensive.
