So I have this ginormous gert case that my F550 sits snuggly inside. I am soon putting bigger arms etc on my craft, but have a sneaky plan to twist the arms slightly when being carried around.

But as you can see from the image, I only use about 0.5% of the actual volume, even though the 550 is snug.

Does anyone have any neat ideas on how to utilise the rest of the space to save lugging 3 or 4 cases around with me?

Cheers

4x 8000 4s
8x 2200 3s (for phantom but might help keeping them in here)

I';ve got loads of room in my case to :-)

Did you get foam with yours? Very handy to be able to fit other things in without them moving!

Got room for small tool kit underneath, transmitter stands up (surprisingly tall!) bottom right, then got room for FPV monitor and sun sheild just above that. GoPro and GoPro remote between 2 arms bottom centre :)

Then of course you have loads of room for stickers on top!

Gonna have to get me some forum stickers to  ::)

The paranoid in me doesn';t want to put my LiPos inside my case... They live in lipo bags at the moment. Trying to work out where to store them though, might get a small hard suitcase or something...

flybywire

Well, you might get a nitro buggy in the bottom, with its wheels sticking out, then you can drive it to the field/location!

My case was second hand and came with the foam that is shown in the image, all cut out for the 550. It is hard foam.

So you think the only option would be to buy hard foam for it and cut it out?

Cheapest place for hard foam?

cosmorogers

My case has the pick and pluck foam, which I think is a tad easier to ';cut'; out (well you just pop out the bits you don';t want.

What make / type of case is it you have (it looks suspiciously like mine... )

Well for the official foam set you are looking at around £50+

http://www.jitpak.com/large-peli-replacement-foam-sets/peli-1630-foam-set.html

It looks like you can get just plain pick and pluck foam, but not in the sizes you will want (unless you stick a couple together...)

A Google search for foam or foam sheet reveals several uk sellers, but I';ve not used any so can';t comment further.

Richlizard

Ok thanks.

I was really hoping someone had knocked up some cunning ideas but if nobody comes forward I will just have to fill it with foam.
