upgrade to pixhawk?

hi guys, my hkpilot apm2.5 became faulty last week and ive been without my quad throughout this dry spell   
so, I have arranged an rma with HK, hopefuly if they reward it as faulty I will get a new one sent (its the option I chose  ).
anyhoo, I have a couple of things on ebay that should generate enough to buy a pixhawk and some other bits and bobs.
should I get a pixhawk this early into the hobby or should I hold on and stick with hkpilot?.
I would like to stick the hkpilot into a bixler and put a pixhawk on the quad, but that';s just me  :evil
what do you think?
