I am a New Zealander (& English) - I just came across this video on Vimeo.

Goodly portions were shot with a GoPro on a Phantom + Zenmuse. Without a doubt, the finest & most beautiful  video of NZ I have ever seen - I know and have been to most of the places on the vid.

Sit back for five minutes and relax, close you mind to everything else and be refreshed.

That';s an AWESOME video, I wish I could be that creative.

I guess they used a different lens on the GoPro as there was not a hint of fisheye or the tell tale signs of them correcting the fisheye look, great stuff!

Point and click.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

Amorgos

I love the timelapse work he';s done. Looks like he';s attached the camera to some kind of gyro on the ground.

RCJardin

This video is fantastic. Looks like a bit of slider work + the Phantom GoPro etc. An example of how creative talent can easily overtake technical obsessions with equipment - he has actually produced something.

Many Thanks

Awesome. I presume that is planet Earth?  In this specific dimension?

Wonderful that there is still unspoilt beauty to be had.

Hmm! Is Vimeo restricted to members only or certain countries? I cannot access the video..just get a generic Vimeo page

Bloody rubbish internet! Just tried again and can see it but still won';t play though cos I don';t have enough bandwidth. At least I can download a Youtube vid eventually but Vimeo does not let you do that.

Col_M

That';s a really nice video, NZ is a beautiful place :)

You can clearly tell the difference between the GoPro and the 5D MkIII footage watching fullscreen, can';t be too critical though, the GoPro costs less than a cheap lens

yeah amazingly shot and edited.
Rotating time lapse with a Gopro can be created using an ikea egg timer I kid you not. Currently on my to do list.

This could be subject to its own thread
I have the Ikea egg timer - the problem is that it runs only for 1 hour and at a fixed rotation speed.
I have an Arduano Uno with a stepper motor shield. I have it running a stepper motor salvaged out of an old scanner. It is also possible to use same kit to pull a dolly for those lovely slow time lapse night sequences...

EDIT: there are suitable & usable stepper motors in scanners and printers - don';t just dump them, pull ';em apart for a host of goodies. Scanners also have an incredibly powerful lens that you can use as a jewellers loupe and suitable mirror stripe for dynamic prop balancing and all manor of gears and springs precision ground rods etc etc et al.
