Hi all just looking into other bits of kit I might need and I keep seeing Power distribution boards (round discs with lots of soldering req).
I have looked in the newbie section and can';t find any info on them. sry if I have not looked hard enough.
Do I need one of these? as I thought the flight controller is where you plugged in the esc/motors.
Thanks in advance,

The Power distribution board is where you connect your esc';s to and any other bits that need power from the battery - it distributes power from the battery!

You don';t have to use a PDB, you can always make up a wiring loom thingy like this.

I take it that means everything, inc reciever, flight controller , camera gimbal any additional servo';s.
Cheers,

The only things that need to be connected to the distro board or loom are high current devices. Lower current devices like receiver, flight controller and servos are usually powered from a BEC which is either built into your ESCs or a stand alone BEC.

Not quite sure :hmm:

The one I pictured I made up with some silicone wire and heat shrink to suit my own needs.

Do any of you guys run a life pack direct for some redundancy or are the FC boards too voltage senstive.
I know my receiver could cope but looking at the APM board it';s 6 volt max, just wondering if any one has tried and fried
