So having my usual browse around the 28 days later forum, I can';t help but think that urb-ex and multirotors were made to go together - get the awesome shots of disused/abandoned places, without the worry of whether the floor is going to collapse under you haha!

TBS Discovery + ghetto printed gimbal, HovershipMHQ 1 & 2, QAV250, Turnigy Talon V2, chinese Alien500 thingie, 3d Printed Tricopter, Bix 3, Flyingwings.co.uk FalconEVO, Venturi EVO 1+2, Hornet Racing Wing, Radjet800 (by the dozen)... Permanent sucker for FPV, and lots and lots of OpenLR

My quad arrives this week, and I';ve been thinking the same thing :)

I';ve just come home from riding around loads of places to investigate once the winds drop. Loads of abandoned and some burnt remains of factories canal side here in Leicester.

There is an abandoned and sealed up motel on the A2 at the Tollgate junction (Kent).  I';ve been there when it was in use. But a few years ago the A2 was moved 100 metres to encroach on the grounds, so it is now just a ghost motel.  I';ve been speculating doing an FPV there, but not entirely sure in terms of legalities.  If the aircraft lands in the grounds I won';t be able to enter to retrieve it.  And explaining myself may be "challenging".  So erring to the side of caution.  But it would make an impressive fly through.

well that was a let down. Flying around an abandoned hotel and all they did was fly about over the top of it?! You can do that in an empty field! I was looking forward to some flying in and out of hotel rooms at the very least..

At one point I did think the pilot was going to drop down to at least look in at the window/door level.  That would have been cool. Also a trip around the swimming pool and pool bar area would have been interesting.

Would like to fly around the two 300 foot shipbuilding cranes, and the wind farm turbine construction site in pass every day.

Especially as there an oil rig undergoing repairs at the minute too

Nearly ... next junction coast bound --> https://www.google.co.uk/maps/preview#!data=!1m4!1m3!1d513!2d0.360489!3d51.4162539!2m1!1e3&fid=7

Its a complete ghost town, I';d love to get in there for an hour with my FPV kit.

Ohh... I never even noticed that. Then again I don';t really drive past there.

Looks like a nice opportunity for FPV. Have you tried asking? There seems to be security on site.

I';ve not tried asking. Probably need to contact the land owners to get permission as it is fenced and gated.
