Realistic boom arm length

Hi Everyone,

Need some technical assistance, having my design cnc';d from fr4 2mm  width of both plates are approx 266mm dia with rotating cnc';d arm mounts
with each arm at 300mm just the 16mm carbon tube, plus the motor mount centre to centre each motor is going to be approx 946mm.
The motors are emax 4114 with a 15*5 prop, am I within the limits of my motors given the size.

I've assumed quite a bit here but the short answer is yes, you're fine but you can do better.

I entered my overall weight plus a bit (1850g) and my battery (4s 6000mah), 30A esc and apc electric propellers.

your thrust would be 2:1, and hover time of about 20mins. Current draw, temp etc are really low so all good there


However, if you go up to a 17x6 propeller, you'll get nearly 10mins extra hover time and all the current, temp etc are still looking good and thrust is nearer 3:1

I'm considering similar actually, I don't suppose you know where I can get clamps to fit where the f450 arms went to fit 16mm cf tube instead?
