BetaFPV Hx100 Issues.

So managed to fly the hx100 the other day and it's giving me 2 issues. One is I kept getting rxloss on the display and at one point i had no control over it and it went into the bushes. So to avoid this issue I had to fly it closer to me which seemed to solve the issue. I've got a crossfire nano in the post was wondering if this can be mounted to the hx100 if not i'll just keep it for another quad i am thinking of getting.

the second issue is the video feed is really poor. is there a way of changing the output power or channel on the hx100? i'll see if I can link a short clip of what the issue looks like and attach it to this post sometime.

What radio?

Its supposed to have a 25-200mW switchable VTX, what are you on?

Are you using Smart Audio to set Band/Channel/Power?

It reads like you REALLY need to study its manual!

I guess I do!  :D
rx is a FrSky LBT I believe.
tx is a Jumper t18

So, i've gone in and added the vtxtable not sure how to check if it's saved.. Didn't know it had this SmartAudio feature. I've used the CLI to save everything and set the output to 200mW. Hopefully this solves the video issue. Hoping to get out in about 5 days time on my rest days if it's dry. Thanks BadRaven for the heads up about SmartAudio.

OK, no worries.............

Right, lets try to solve the range matter.  :hmm:

Since you are on a LBI Rx I assume that means D16 mode. I have the Hx115 (I also have the 65X) and TBH neither particularly impressedas they arrived.  The way BetaFPV leave the video and Rx aerials loose and badly positioned to get cut in the props is downright criminal.  :slap:

Mine has the XM+ so two aerials, both now positioned off either side of the canopy through holes so they are up above all the metawork like motors and boards and at 90 degrees, held by rigid by cable ties up through the same holes and shrink wrap.

The VTX antenna is brought up the rear up high near vertical again through a hole and slot in the rear canopy, keeps it clear of all the signal absorbing metal/carbon. Looks like the 100 is in need of the same treatment.

BOTH THESE MODS SHOULD BE STANDARD!! (they def improved mine)

It's not a great photo but this is cropped from a photo. I've kind of done a mod to the antennas. Maybe the radio rx antenna is too close to the vtx antenna.

Should be OK, can always bend the VTX antenna back a little so its upright when quad in forward lean, but thats being finicky!

Hopefully then your picture quality is down to the VTX power.

However, being a little'un, the RADIO Rx as well as possibly the VTX will not be full range, I assume its a SPI type on the main board not a separate board?

Even if it is a dedicated Rx, since its only single aerial its likely at best "parkfly" range, and sadly I have found that Euro LBT D16 micro's are not as good as FAA D8 in the tiny sizes and weights that micro quads need.

That's interesting about the euro LBT rx. Managed to find a diagram for this fc on betafpv's site for wiring the tbs nano rx. Will have to give this a go if I can fit it into the canopy.

It's a pretty nippy little quad. But I am still a beginner. It's usually months apart when I get to fly so it is taking ages to learn.
