FrSky R-XSR or R9M lite?

I'm switching to FrSky x-Lite S to get small reliable rx. I currently need 2 x rx, so I was thinking of going for 2 x R-XSR at about £17 each. Then I noticed that I could get a Frsky R9m Lite And R9 Mm Combo for £39 and an extra R9MM for £19.
So I could get R9M for about £25 more than standard rx!
OK so I realise the R9M lite is limited more in power to the R9 but would the lite perform better than standard 2.4Ghz rx? I believe the Flex FW gives me a bit more functionality in UK

Cheers for any advice.
I try :-)

IMO the main disadvantage of R9 is the size & shape of the receiver antenna. Not as easy to mount as 2.4GHz and seems to pick up damage easier in my experience.

Also, I would say that unless you really need telemetry, the XM+ is a better bet than the R-XSR. So for £25 or so you can get 2x XM+ vs. £34 for 2x R-XSR vs. £58 for the R9 setup.

With an OSD telemetry is less important and the XM+ outputs RSSI on channel Aux12.

Good points. The rx antenna are one thing that is putting me off as I am only intending to fly 3" and under. So the antennas are very big compared to the frames

That said I am hoping to get more flying in next year in challenging environments so was thinking the 800Mhz would give better penetration. It's a tricky one as the cost now isn't much difference but if I wanted to switch in future it would be an extra £58 on top of which ever 2.4Ghz I went for.

It's always dilemmas with new kit...

Thanks very much for your comments, much appreciated.

OK so after lots of umming and arring I decided on the standard 2.4Ghz FrSky system.

Just ordered a FrSky X-lite S, 18650 lipos, and 3 x R-XSR rx from quadcopters.co.uk  :D
Should arrive Thursday as lipos on order it has to be DPD courier.

Let the learning curve begin

I will probably post my experience as I am only used to FlySky and it is so simple in comparison  :D

Painless360 has a load of good videos on FrSky / OpenTX concepts.

The R9 Ecosystem is a PITA. IMO it's not stable. I thought I'd just had terrible luck but a mate purchased one with 4 RX and they're all sketchy. I purchased one, failsafed all over the place sent it back and was foolish enough to buy another. Still not impressed with the range on an X-Lite (he's on X7 using full size unit). Very much regretting not going for a TBS even though I think they are extremely overpriced.

The x-lite S arrived today!! What fun...
I try :-)
