Wookong

I've built an 830mm quad, knowing the naza I have may not be suitable, It's grounded for now so I've yet to try it out but I've been offered a wookong for just over £100

I'm seriously tempted but wanted an opinion first; wookong or one of the others - pixhawk etc? And, why?

ched

I am not up on the big rig flight controllers but the Wookong is more sophisticated and will do way points.
I know they used to be a lot more than £100. Looking at ebay that seems a reasonable price depending on spec and components.
I try :-)

I hadn't realised there were different specs, sounds like I've got some reading-up to do

Sorry not necessarily spec more what components they come with. I am not sure if they all come with OSD, Bluetooth etc. I don't know enough about them but always good to do lots of research on quad stuff.

I just wish I knew for sure either naza won't work well or wookong does more/better enough to justify it

If I recall correctly the Naza was only ever intended to control up to 550. Anything larger would require the Wookong.
Its been a while since Ive used either. Ive only ever used Naza as a 'hobby grade' controller, all the older pro stuff was on Wookong.

The Wookong has now been discontinued so you probably wont get any support for it. If I where building a pro rig today with DJI equipment, it would have either the A3 or N3 flight controller fitted.

The biggest question is: What will you be using it for?

tipsy trucker

I suppose you could say pro use but only for my own entertainment - one of the reasons I'm not keen on spending a great deal. I just enjoy tinkering with them and seeing the world from above, that may develop into more over time; probably still not for money, more like videos to share or use as screen savers or whatever.

Last night, I very nearly just bought it but then I saw waypoints are/were something you have to buy. I doubt I'd use them much but I'm against this sort of trick. Have they made them free now? Are they expensive?
