Ibus plus a servo channel?

I've searched and searched but can't find a straight answer, can you help?

I'm using an fs-ia10b receiver via ibus with naza but would like to use a channel for a buzzer and possibly one for retractable landing gear

Is there any way to do that? I've seen a video using one of the final channels for the buzzer but it didn't work for me (iirc, that channel is used for ioc). What I really need is to be able to use a couple of the higher channels (say 9 and 10?) As old fashioned servos (I.e.not on the ibus/sbus), while leaving the ibus alone - can it be done and, if so, how?

Must admit I 'cheated' and used the individual outputs of the ia10b rx. So the first 7, I think, go t the naza then I have 2 going to the 3 axis gimbal and 1 going to a 3 way video switch so I can select the fpv camera or the sj4000 on the gimbal.

I didn't manage to find a way to use iBus and PWM. One think I didn't try was to use iBus to Naza and then try and plug a servo into say channel 10 on the rx and see if it worked? I have no idea if the PWM outputs work at same time as iBus.

Not used my F450 with naza for over a year since I built my Martian3 220  ::). So memory of setting it up a little hazy.

Sorry to not be of more help.
I try :-)

What I can tell you is; plugging the buzzer into any channel on the receiver or outputs on the naza results in the most annoying noise in the world  :whistling:

I can use the 7 PWM channels to NAZA instead, I have plenty of short servo leads but will that stop any of the telematic bits or osd from working? The little voltage sensor I have (plugged into the sensor socket on receiver), will that still work?

Using the servo wires should be fine. Make 100% sure you connect correctly so that teh channels are correct from rx to NAZA, props off. I seem to remember mode switch is not on ch5 but something like ch7 on Naza.
I think the OSD is plugged between the GPS and the NAZA so should be fine, quick check, just unplug the rx and see what happens to OSD.

As for the buzzer, well this gets interesting. I assume you realise that a standard buzzer generally needs 0V and 5V to sound. I think you need a special one if its to be triggered by pwm. Something like this: https://www.flyingtech.co.uk/electronics/5v-piezo-buzzer-lost-model-alarm-pwm-fc-compatible

Voltage sensor should still work fine. It does on mine as I only use PWM plus the voltage sensor.

It's the vifly I got, so needs a signal all the time and turns on when the signal is lost. However, whatever's coming out of the rx when using the ibus just causes it to make a hideous noise all the time  :embarrassed

As far as I know, I've tried the wires in every possible combination but it just does the same all the time. Interestingly, changing the frequency on the tx (servo freq?) Changes the tone but doesn't help apart from that. I've yet to try it just using pwm though.

Reman

I had the same kind of problem when I wanted to use a serial input only (iBus/sBus/PPM) FC but needed a couple PWM outputs for a gimbal. I'm lead to believe that Cleanflight and Betaflight have dropped the code for PWM servo outputs from later releases, So in the end I just added a little PWM to PPM converter module between the RX and FC to encode 8 of my 10 channels into something my FC could use, And wired the last two channels directly from the RX to the gimbal. I've used this workaround on a few quads and hex's now and the signal getting to the FC seems just as stable as it is without it in the loop. I haven't noticed any of the control lag that could theoretically be caused by setting it up this way either, But then again, I'm not a "10ths of a second" pilot.

I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.
