Nice to see picys.
Interesting gimbal. I think that frame can have a gimbal mounted at the front so you don't need extended legs.
Some images here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?1901937-TBS-DISCOVERY-ver-2-with-Brushless-Gimbal

Make sure all your wires are tied down. Maybe move the vtx a little bit in and then you can cable tie a bit of the antenna to the frame so any impact doesn't put pressure on the sma connector on the vtx.
I try :-)

That's a good idea  ~~

I like the gimbal in your link, looks diy'd? I hate mine if I'm honest, it has a mind of its own and "unstable" would be an understatement (unstable like an asylum inmate). Incidentally, it's mounted at 90 degrees to normal because it worked better that way with the shape of the Q6, works fine just needed the pitch wire on the roll socket instead. A better quality one is on the cards but I'm now between jobs so trying to keep it under control.

Have a search for Google for 'tbs discovery gimbal' and look at the images. There are loads of DIY versions.

One thing that you might not know about gimbals is they are supposed to be balanced. i.e. when the camera is on the gimbal and there is no power on the gimbal it should sit level.  The shape of the Q6 probably wont help but it is similar to the old mobius camera. So you might find some good images of a mobius camera on a gimbal that might help.

Good luck, test failsafes, get a good gps lock and take it easy at first.
I try :-)

That's one thing it does do; I get it balanced really nicely but when I put power to it, it moves round just a touch and stays there (when it's not having a fit) I think it's to do with where the magnets are in the motor but I'm not going to worry about it for now, not if I'll replace it at some point anyway.

I used the camera yesterday  The props are balanced, the jitters and randomly looking at the ground occasionally are the gimbal's looney ways

Looks good, nice place to fly.
The first gimbal I had did the same sort of twitching and random changes.  I never did get to the bottom of it.
I bought a 3 axis gimbal with a Storm32 Gimbal Controller. This was so much better. I also added a bluetooth module to it so I can even adjust it via my phone.

It was a couple of years ago so there may be much better gimbals for similar money now. I seem to remember that who ever made the STorm32 controller has brought out a newer one. You might be able to find a front mounted one for your frame?

Good to see it flying, well done, not every one who starts building actually gets to fly  ::)

Just spotted this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3D-Printed-Gopro-Hero3-Gopro3-2-axis-Brushless-Gimbal-for-TBS-Black-Sheep-Discovery-Quadcopter/32725645906.html?spm=2114.search0204.3.2.6c27dea6zyEVqc&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10065_10068_10130_318_10547_319_10548_317_10696_450_10192_10190_10084_10083_10618_452_535_534_10307_533_10820_532_10301_10821_10303_204_10059_10884_323_10887_100031_320_321_322_5727715_10103_448_449_5727815,searchweb201603_45,ppcSwitch_0_ppcChannel&algo_expid=86a7f5c0-bd66-4036-a0a5-afd82365581e-0&algo_pvid=86a7f5c0-bd66-4036-a0a5-afd82365581e about £10 and you can use your existing mortors, imu and controller but mount it on the front and have no need for the legs.
I try :-)

Cool, it's always good to have a recommendation rather than trial and error  ~~ I think I'll be putting that on the new frame and selling this one with everything I can't use. So,I'll persevere with the gimbal I have for now though the discovery parts would have been well worth it if I wasn't, looks good .
