D8 Mode - Post 2016 Taranis

A quick question before I start doing things I'm not totally sure about.

I've got 2 tinywhoop FC's from betafpv that I got in a bundle of stuff. They both have inbuilt frsky Rx's that require D8 mode.

I have a post 2016 Taranis that has D16 mode on it.

I watched the video below, but from all that stuff I've read, I'm still not sure if that will work on my Taranis.

Yeah it works, I did this a while ago. You have two sets of firmware running on your Taranis, OpenTX and FrSky firmware. You can relate OpenTX being like Android on your mobile phone and FrSky firmware being the firmware running on the phone's modem. D8 mode is hidden in the OpenTX build yourl have shipped on your radio but your FrSky firmware has it enabled. Essentially by changing the OpenTX firmware to a newer one, its also giving you access to the d8 option.
