2.4Ghz receiver antenna replacements?

Somehow I managed to rip my rx antenna (Flysky x6b) out of its ipex connector!! Oops. That will teach me to try and get through my gates

So I need a new antenna for the rx. I have seen lots on ebay that have the ipex connector and are 150mm long which will enable me to position them on the arms.

The question is some of the antennas seem to have a 'copper tube' just below the whip. They are suggesting that the gain is 3db. I am guessing this is some form of centre loading inductor?

So is a straight whip antenna or a 'centre loaded' one better for rx?

Cheers
I try :-)

The copper tube creates a dipole. The single wire is just a monopole.

The dipole has better impedance matching and will give better performance.

But were you experiencing any problems before the gate indecent?
Guess it won't matter much unless you are going for range or flying around buildings.

No problems before the gate other than my lack of ability  ::) The X6B does have 2 antennas and even still flying with only 1 RSSI didn't suffer much at all. Then again I am only flying round a football field so no range really and not even a tree to fly round  :( .
Think I will stick to the monopole ones as that is what the X6B is setup for.
