ISSUE - Upgraded my VTX but picture quality is worse!?

Hello,

I have an Eachine Wizard 220 and I broke my antenna off the VTX.

I tried to solider on a new SMA connected to the VTX but I failed and was resigned to buying a new VTX which was not a problem because I could use this as an excuse to upgrade as well.  ::)

After search a number of websites and reading some blogs about an upgrade to the Eachine Wizard I selected the below VTX BUT after receiving and installing the new VTX the picture quality has gotten worse!

I will try to explain the image quality:

• The detail of the image has gone.  It is hard to make out objects until they are right in front of the drone
• The black are strange.  Any shadows are just black and the edges are a little blocky
• The definition of the image quality I very poor

I hope this make sense and someone out there can help.

Check your camera lense hasnt come loose and lost its focus. It should twist with an adjustment ring to hold it in place.

check the SMA/RP-SMA connector, make sure you are using the correct type for the vtx and antenna
an RP-SMA male will fit an SMA female but as neither one has a pin it wont make a complete connection
also check the pin is not damaged

As above, also check you are on the right channel, but ultimately cheap Chinese electronics, buy a TBS unify and have done with it

cheap chinese stuff is like Ryanair... every time I fly them I swear never again....a few years later I get sucked in by their crazy prices and as always I have to swear again...on the plus side it's a good airline for poor students who have time and energy...

Or you could go with a matek vtx. Personally having had 2 unifies self destruct for no reason at all I won’t buy another. So far my matek’s flown about 20packs and has been faultless.

This of course means next time I plug in a battery it will also go to the vtx graveyard
