MultiWII PID Settings

Ok, so I have built my SK450 with Crius V2 + GPS and I think that I';m ready to give it a go!

However, what about PID settings? The attached are the default settings.

Will these work for starters?

Yea always best to give it a test with the default settings first it may well fly very well on them

WOW!

Default settings got me in the air and I was well impressed!.

That';s the maiden over n done with!

Now I need to get a hang on how to tune and get the most out of this maching and electronics!

Well, I';m not entirely sure what';s going on now!

Hovering was good but it was a bit windy. So I thought that I';d try and tune the PIDs.

So, my setup is a Crius V2 with Multiwii 2.2 running GPS & Sonar (if I can get it working!).

Multiwiiwingui interface set-up and connected.

With the standard PID settings, all is fine. So I hopped up the P setting on Pitch & Roll in increments of 1. I was able to change to O setting from 4 up to around 8 with no noticeable change in feel! I then decided to change I & D to zero and eventually P all the way up to 11! Again, only subtle changes. The controls became sluggish but that was about it!

Does this sound right or am I doing something wrong?

Are you actually writing those changes to the flight controller ?

As far as I could see the answer is yes!

I would click on Write Settings and to check that they were on the board, I changed a setting and then hit read settings and the written settings would come back into the GUI.

I would of thought you would see huge changes in such changes 
The good thing is if you hit reset in the GUI it will put every thing back to default

When you say hit reset, do you mean "Load Default"?

Its just reset in the Wii Gui but might say some thing else in the WinGui or Adroid App

Hmmm!

I hit load defaults and it did exactly what it said on the box!

It changed the PID settings and wrote them directly to the board without confitmation! So, I was unable to see exactly what the differences were.

As it';s dark, I won';t be able to see what the affect of these new settings are!
