Yes, it had to happen some time. Casey Neistat has lost his NOT EVEN IN THR SHOPS YET DJI Mavic somewere in the river!

While I do love him and the work he does, he really can be a PRIZE PLUM sometmes. His really really risky flying most of the times just makes me squirm.

Judging by the numerous threads that mention C.N. I don';t think the guy has a very large fan base on this forum.   

Personally speaking, I don';t particularly like him or dislike him.  But I don';t think he';s a complete idiot as he';s proved clever enough to produce an award winning and salary paying professional vlogging channel that allows him to live and work, doing what he loves, in New York city.

He does seem to behave like a proper turnip sometimes, which get';s all the haters talking, but if bad publicity is still good publicity maybe he';s actually an absolute genius.   ;D

His worst nightmare would be for nobody to be bothered either way, you';re a part of his influence base if you even care enough to post hate.
We are still talking about him, and I too like to step outside my own opinions of his behaviour long enough to say he';s good at prompting people to have some view, and earning a pretty penny while we do.

The way he throws new kit out of a bag/box makes me laugh, mainly as I cringe and want to berate him like my dad would me, if I';d done that, but I have to then remember, at the time I feel strongly I carry on viewing, and in some part probably pay for him to have more stuff to abuse.
Just turn away, close the video and it will stop, if you don';t like it/him just don';t visit his channel or even mention him.

Ah was that posted on utube if so I saw that I would be gutted. I was gonna buy one but have never flown a quadcopter before are they ok for a total beginner?

Casey Neistat - you either love him or hate him. Personally I believe from watching his videos he is very irresponsible towards the safety of others. On the flip side of this and as a YouTuber he is extremely entertaining, but sadly this type of entertainment is what people like to see. I was however quite surprised he actually showed his failure in this video when he lost his Mavic.  But I did chuckle.    

PS: I don';t believe it was an aircraft or flight system failure - Just Casey Error.

I think most people here will give the sagely advice to get yourself a little micro quad first, buzz about with that indoors or somewhere safe so that you can get an idea for whether you LIKE the hobby and have the aptitude to fly - I hope you do because we always welcome new polits here.

It';s a sure bet that getting a new done that you';ve had a handful of hours flight time and sending it a couple of miles away in a busy city isn';t the ideal way to learn.

Hubsan X4 H107 is the usual suggestion and will cost you around £30. You could also have fun with something like a Cheerson CX-10 or the Eachine E010 for not much more than a tenner.

Not a bad choice, the are great fun and handle wind quite well,  if you go for extra batts get high c  Nanotec are  OK and relatively cheap.

You can';t go wrong with the Hubsan - I love mine, even took it with me to Singapore for 5 weeks :)

HF: Where are you getting good Hubsan batteries from these days? I';ve found the whole thing VERY hit and miss. I only have one left that';s working and a jar of nasty puffies.
