USB Agro!!!!

Has anyone ever thought of using one of these on their flight controllers

They seem cheap enough and during the set up and ironing out phase of the build it certainly would remove the strain on the usb what with all the plugging and unplugging there are many on the market varying in price and quality.
just might be worth buying one adapter for each model and using just one cable certainly saves struggling to insert the damn usb in the awkward places we put them

Interesting, of course would play merry hell with sensors like magnometers but good find

I used one of those in my work phone for a while.

You have to use quite a bit of pressure to get the connector into the phone (or whatever) personally I wouldn';t use on on your average  Naze etc.

Also don';t use the right angle extenders as these can cause the USB connector to get torn off in a crash.

I';d say look for a USB lead with a narrow connector (the old Amazon Kindle ones are a nice size)

If necessary rotate the flight controller so the USB connector is easy to get at

the problem I have is with a mini APM in a Q450 frame I put it between the top and bottom plate thinking it would protect it now wish I had put it on top plate getting the usb in to it no matter what way round is a pig but have the 3DR radio set now so that should remove the problem.

The interface itself is not magnetic the actual cable on this one is and another one I just looked at the adapters are low level and about 3 quid for 2 so might give them a try

For a couple of my quads where the FC board USB is buried rear facing deep inside the frames, I have a small bodied USB lead, the FC end connector of which I have reinforced tape attached a carbon rod, so it can be easily located onto and inserted without any hassle or dismantling.

My Diatone ET frames have the side fitting FC USB located RIGHT in line with one post, typical, eh?
