Phantom Proximity Flying

Had some fun and challenging fluting with the Phantom this week filming my friends company for a bit of fun.

First time flying the Phantom in close proximity. Risky but the experience of flying my 180 and 210 fpv racers certainly helped me keep the Phantom out of the trees!

Some great flying NorcoT, as you say, risky, but goes to show that without an element of risk, AP can be very dull.  In fact it looks like you managed to work out exactly where you could be without getting a ton of pine in your blades!
Those tree cutters are awesome bits of kit are they not?  I have sooo many uses for one of those!   ~~  ~~  ~~

Thanks, my Phantom doesnt get out much because as you say without risk / reason to fly it can get a bit boring.

Yeh the shots were scoped out in that i needed some vertical space without branches. Getting up through the canopy was interesting, flying LOS in Atti for most of the filming. Could have done with someone to operate the camera.

Those machines were awesome, first time id seen them in action. I was like a little kid again watching jcbs. Always facinated with them. On the plus point if i got stuck in a tree these boys would have retrieved the phantom for me ;)

I';ve no doubt they would!   :o

Really nice vid that buddy. Good framing, piloting and editing. Colours were slightly flat in some shots but that';s nitpicking really. Good job

NorcoT

Thanks revs always nice to get some feedback. I agree some of thr colour is flat, some more post needed i think.

A lot of the framing was luck. Flying in the woods i didnt have much chance to look at the video feed.

 Some awesome shots there buddy keep up the great work  ~~

Great vid, keep them coming especially like that one!!!
That is one badass machine, makes mincemeat out of the trees so quickly!!!

hoverfly

Very nice tight flying,  and a  bit of a change to have someone tinkeling the ivories instead of kicking a dustbin.

They sound like some nice fellers.

NorcoT

Cheers everyone, great to hear positive comments from everyone. Aerial filming was the reason i got into this hobby in the first place so it';s nice to actually do it when I';m not side tracked with building and smashing fpv racers.

Would have loved to try going commercial but to much competition and I';ve not got enough to offer so just for fun it will have to be.

That was great to watch, especially flying near a machine like that, I kept thinking of everything that could have gone wrong, but didn';t, awesome flying ~~
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

Really enjoyed that, though be careful nobody tries to claim that you were "flying for profit"

Not much kit, but what I have I like
Armattan Tilt 2, Morphite 180, Quark 150, Decapitated NanoQX
Taranis+

NorcoT

Thanks kilby, it was certainly not for ';material gain'; as per caa rules. Thats why its a private video on youtube. I abided by the law and held insurance for hobby flying again flying within the rules. But thanks for heads up, this was purely for the amature hobby only.

Yeah  know that, but all you need is one ass saying "Oh that benefits the company" and it could lead to irritation.

Isn';t it awful that when you see something really nicely done, you worry in case an idiot may try to claim it';s too good.

Anyway it';s really nicely done, I';m just saying there';s always one idiot so beware

Totally agree. Better to be cautious. I just hope the people here are as passionate about the hobby as i am and understand that this was done for the joy of it and not for commercial reasons.

Thats why ive avoided listing the video publicly on youtube.
