Am I being too fussy

In the last month I have bought 2 secondhand quads and tbh I am a bit pee';d off that neither had been cleaned up.
Now I know I am not getting brand new quads but arghh why cant someone run a damp cloth over a quad before sending.

Had one that arrived as described, been sat in loft for a year and yep can agree with that as it had layer of dust n grime on it!  Damp cloth and clean it off perhaps!

Second one was dirty underneath with grass stains etc...once again a damp cloth would of cleaned that off.

Not being fussy or anything but if I sell anything I want the person who has bought it to think yes he looked after it and it doesn';t look like its been dipped in mud n grass.

Id be more worried if it turned up looking brand spanking even though it was "used".

used = tried and tested

used (but looking new) = bought/ built but somethings wrong (which buyer/builder couldnt diagnose/fix and which you have no idea about atall)

I would say no because it indicates a lack off attention to detail.
I always clean and check my models before I put them away.

It always bugs me too when people can';t even be bothered to wipe the dirt or dust off. I once bought "reconditioned" blue-ray player from Tesco that suffered from this.

I always clean my kit before storage and repair it quickly after any unplanned mis-hap. I like keeping stuff clean. I guess I';d be a little miffed if someone sent me a box of dirt and dust with a free quad, but then I probably wouldn';t buy an item without seeing good photos first.

Does it look like it did when you were sent pictures/shown it prior to the sale??

Photos arent always that brilliant as anyone knows, and you cant always see damage or grass, dirt etc!!

Can';t agree more Mark. It';s like a car. If someone was coming to look/buy you would clean it. Or at least I would.

I bought a 180 quad recently on FB. A lot of the bolts and the aerial were rusty and I was like it had been lying for months. There was that much hotglue I surprised it took off!

Totally get where your coming from. Guess everyone is different.

I';ve bought several used machines and the condition they';re shipped in is hugely variable where some dirt and grass are the least of the issues

I';ve only ever sold items where they have been in the condition that I would wish to receive it in, including slightly suspect parts being replaced.
