Over a week in a river and I get my baby back!

The title says it all. As I said in an earlier post it was my last attempt at retrieval. On the fourth visit to the river we strike lucky.

I typed a speel in the description. Magnets were rubbish for me. I used "sea searcher" magnets capable of pulling 60kg. But lifting a quad even from a table in the kitchen it performed pretty poorly. Maybe unless you happen to catch it bang on the money. I would suggest you need at least 200kg magnet to stand a chance.
Netting was good but it has to be big netting. Like tennis or goal netting. With silt Anything else forget it. Too heavy. So thanks for that suggestion. But it happened to be the expandable rake that won the day. :)

Thanks guys I';m proper made up. It flew so beautifully I really didn';t wanna lose it. It all works perfect. I';ve tested it. Only the vtx, Fpv cam and battery i lost. I paint everything electrical in 3 or 4 layers of liquid electrical tape. Including the escs. The only thing I done before hooking that battery up was cut off the heatshrink because I could still see water beneath the heatshrink. Blasted it through with water and then with electrical contact cleaner. That was it.
Yeah the rake was very very handy. Fine enough to feel the bottom, push down a touch and then sweep. Hear the dink, check it';s not another oyster and boom. Quad found. 😀

Wonder if you could have a balloon with some baking soda sealed with a balsa plug so that when it gets wet the balloon fills with gas and breaks from it';s (paper based) mount, have that retained by 1m of light monofilament to the frame so you have a "wreck marker"
