Hi all

As subject, When Using a Pixhawk how many GPS Satellites are needed for a safe launch.

And is it possible within Mission Planner to set that number so it will not Arm until it has the correct number of Sats locked in.

Thanks

Paul

I would take notice of the HDOP over how many satellite you have, I would always recommend a HDOP of 1.8m or less, to be on the safe side.

TBS Tango 2
FatShark Dominator V3 with RapidFire Module
Armattan Chameleon-BF3.5.7
TBS Source One, KL100 Micro, Mobula7 HD
DJI Mavic Pro

The recommended is 5 SATs and hdop 3. !!
Personally as above  1.8 is good , another point is check the k-index
as it can really ruin your day.  My apm';s are set to 6 SATs and hdop2.
So far no problems.(famous last words)

Thanks for the replies

Is there a way in mission planner to set those values so the board will not arm until those figures have been met.

Thanks

Paul

In mission planner open full paramiter list (button  at top of screen  with a spanner) in config/tuning, type gps in find box ,this opens window in which you will see AHRS-GPS-MINSATS. Set this to 6.
