Hi Everyone,
With the 333mm and 323mm extended arms what would the prop size I could realistically be looking at with the tarot 5008 motor.
Also with the amp rating of the silicone cables, would I be right in saying the load of the 5008 being 40a would it be the 16awg from ESC to motor
and the 14awg to battery.

Thankyou Alan

Static65

333mm is about 13 inches, but you don';t say what kind of frame you';re using so can';t say for sure what will fit. As long as you have 9 inches (plus maybe an inch for safety) clearance from motor centre to anything else then you';ll be able to fit 18 inch props on there.

Oscar Liang';s blog is a good resource - I';ve bookmarked a few of his pages for when I';m doing builds. He';s got one for wire sizes:

Thankyou Static65,

Sorry forgot the most important info its a tarot 680 pro.

Thankyou Alan.

Ah a hex frame, might have got away with 18 inch props on a quad but less space on a hex. Looks like 15 inch props will be the maximum for that frame

DarkButterfly

I used 14in props on my massive 850 sized hex, without extensions 12in props would be the max you can use on a 680, with extensions on the arms, you could use 14in props.
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

My 15in figure was based on some googling, since they actually own a hex I';d go with DarkButterfly';s 14in

Thankyou DarkButterfly and to you Static65, Another question please. Its with respect of the max Amps of the tarot 5008 being 40, but is that not a burst figure as apposed to being sustained or have I grasped things wrong once more,But If this is the case would a 40a ESC be the right choice.

Thankyou once again. Alan

I think your going to have problems on a 680,  the arms are quite flexible and as you extend these it is only going to get worse.  I would be looking at something like the Tarrot 850 /960 which has oversized arms and very rigid.
